"Chalky in texture, this firm rosé is finely integrated, with a rich, smoky underpinning and a subtle mesh of dried strawberry, orange peel, clover honey and ground ginger on the palate. Enjoy with light fare and charcuterie. Drink now through 2020. 2,925 cases imported. -Alison Napjus" (WS)

"Ruinart’s NV Brut Rosé LAHLFA9HB – just over half of which is Pinot, and close to 20% of which constituted red wine – offers almost kir-like scents (I beg that this not be taken as derogatory!) of fresh apple infused with framboise liqueur. A tang of fresh (and, naturally, prominently seedy) pomegranate and a bittersweet twist of orange rind lend vivacity and invigoration while helping balance the wine’s roughly nine grams of residual sugar, leading to a finish of delightful and unabashed fruitiness allied to subtle sweetness. Amusingly, here is both a relatively rare instance of the premium that is asked by a famous Grand Marque for rosé being modest, as well as of its being qualitatively justified. Enjoy this one over the coming year." (WA)

"($75) (roughly 55% pinot noir and 45% chardonnay; LAHLF): Light orange. Red berries, potpourri, toasty lees and orange peel on the highly fragrant nose. Lively and precise, with very good focus to its wild red berry and floral pastille flavors. The orange note comes back strong on the long, penetrating finish, which features a sweet raspberry quality." (VM)

"Pale in color, this is dominated by its taut, nervy structure. Crisp red currant and red apple flavors give the fruitiness. A ripe, full-bodied mouthfeel brings out a softer, riper aftertaste. -R.V. (12/1/2014)" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Ruinart Rose, a fine, elegant champagne with the distinctive Ruinart taste due to a high concentration of Chardonnay grapes. A beautiful colour of pinkish gold. A smooth, balanced, fruity wine with plenty of body. An ideal evening aperitif. At table the finesse of this champagne will go wonderfully with the freshness of a delicious andalusian gaspacho.
