2014 WINE SPECTATOR TOP 100: #54

"Packs in a lot of complexity, with aromas of apple, fresh ginger and rubber that lead to crisp and layered flavors of raspberry and spice. Drink now. 173,000 cases made. –TF" (WS)

"When comparing the differences in this year's large and small bottlings of Mumm's sparkling wines, the Brut Prestige pair is the most convincing in making the point that size can indeed matter. The magnum is far deeper and more explicit in autolyzed yeast, and its bubbles are finer yet. It is less outwardly fruity but still teases with lingering touches of citrus as adjuncts to its mildly toasty traits, and it provides a convenient excuse for opening the equivalent of two bottles in circumstances when one is just not quite enough. Reviewed: November 2014" (CG)

"Mostly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this blend includes smaller percentages of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris as well. Light golden in color, it’s a zingy, long-lingering taste of citrus and berry that’s creamy on the palate with a floral nose. -V.B. (12/1/2014)" (WE)

Winery Notes:
A charming pale salmon color introduces this wine, and follows with a bouquet of ripe Pinot Noir fruit. Part of the wine is initially fermented in the press, producing a soft fruity character that gives Blanc de Noirs its directness, while a small percentage of Chardonnay gives the wine power and structure.
