"Spicy, with candied orange peel overtones to the coffee and cider flavors, lingering on the chai-like finish. This has finesse and complexity. Drink now. 1,500 cases imported." (WS)

"The NV Muscat has a pale brown color with a green tinge. This nose is simple and pure, giving notes of mashed raisins and a whiff of ginger cake. The palate is incredibly sweet and viscous with a relatively medium to high level of acidity that is only slightly wanting in more piquancy into the long sticky finish.

These fortified wines are all bottled to drink now. The extended solera aging process has rendered them relatively stable to changes and they can be stored for a good number of years." (WA)

"($19; for 375 ml.) Dark copper with a hint of red at the rim. Burnt orange, toffee, marzipan and smoky herbs on the nose, with a deeper note of molasses sneaking up with air. Very sweet and broad in the mouth, repeating the toffee and molasses qualities and showing very good depth. This distinctly syrupy wine is more powerful than the tokay, finishing with very good thrust and lingering notes of brown sugar and toffee apple." (IWC)

"Fresh and vibrant, with perfumed, orange-like aromas, this is an excellent introduction to the Rutherglen Muscat style. It’s not as full bodied or rich as some versions, but instead shows off the youthful components of the blend, ending with pronounced citrus notes." (WE)

Winery Notes:
This classification is the foundation of the style; displaying the fresh raisin aromas, rich fruit, clean spirit and great length of flavour on the palate, which are the mark of all the Muscats of Rutherglen. The Muscats of Rutherglen are considered the "World's Richest Wines" and bear a mark of authenticity – an oval logotype with a stylised "R" – which is only applied to the wines drawn from the great Muscat vineyards of the region. “ The "Muscat of Rutherglen" trademark assures the highest quality of wine exclusively sourced from the Rutherglen Wine Region. Campbells 'house style' is typically complex and elegant, capturing a rich purity of raisin fruit flavours.” Colin Campbell
