"Pegau's 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvée Réservée is almost Burgundian in character, the way it balances upfront generosity with mouthwatering length. The flavors are different, offering hints of crushed stone, underripe pineapple, white peach and dried spices, then this medium to full-bodied wine adds vaguely chalky textural elements on the long finish. Silky and streamlined, it does a wonderful job of preserving freshness throughout.

The bottled cuvées available to taste this summer included three white wines and only a single red. That's OK by this taster, as I think Laurence Feraud is producing some of the most compelling white wines in Châteauneuf du Pape. The 2019 Cuvée Réservée (white) may be her best one yet." (WA)

"Looking at the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée Blanc from Laurence Feraud, it offers a very racy, more mineral-laced style that carries ample tart citrus, sappy green herbs, and crushed stone-like notes to go with a medium-bodied, vibrant, racy yet still beautifully concentrated style on the palate. Almost with a little Alsatian Riesling-like minerality and just a hint of petrol, it has bright acidity, and a saltiness on the finish (as well as serious length). A beautiful white, it will actually benefit from a year in bottle, and I suspect it will be very long-lived. I wouldn’t put 15 years of prime drinking past it." (JD)

Winery Notes:
Owned by the dynamic father-and-daughter team of Paul and Laurence Féraud, Domaine du Pegau has emerged as one of the most iconic estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A benchmark producer of traditionally-styled Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Pegau's bottlings are justifiably ranked among the greatest wines in the world.

Tasting Notes:
Aromas of peach, apple and nectarine, with light floral notes and a touch of minerality. Clean, crisp and fresh, with great acidity.
