"Aromatic and distinctive, with a thread of honeysuckle and litsea oil mingling with Meyer lemon, peach and apricot flavors that are generous and intense through the finish, showing a touch of savory sea salt. Drink now. 80,000 cases made, 30,000 cases imported. -MW" (WS)

"A subsidiary label of Vavasour that folds in fruit from beyond the Awatere, Dashwood's 2019 Sauvignon Blanc features an appropriate blend of herbal and fruity aromas, with scents of garden peas joining hints of passion fruit, pineapple and citrus on the nose. It's light to medium-bodied but adequately concentrated, with a gentle tactile note on the finish that gives it a sense of depth." (WA)

"Another in the American-owned Foley Family Wines portfolio, this everyday Sauvignon is a little reductive on the nose, so give it plenty of time in the glass for those oniony characters to blow off and make way for the fruit: lime and grapefruit backed by tomato leaf. On the palate the acidity is puckering and the fruit feels a touch underripe. There's what feels like a little residual sugar to make up for it. The finish is abrupt. Christina Pickard" (WE)

Winery Notes:
The floral symbol on our wine labels is the pohutukawa, a maori word meaning drenched with mist. it is an evergreen tree known as the unoffIcial new zealand christmas tree due to its bright red blooms that emerge every december. The winding Dashwood Pass connects Marlborough’s two marquee winegrowing regions, the Awatere and Wairau Valleys. Since 1989, Dashwood wines have been crafted by blending fruit sourced from these neighbouring yet distinct coastal terroirs. Our wines are true reflections of the Marlborough region: as cool as the winds in our valleys, and as imposing as the mountains that frame our vineyards.

Marlborough is a special place for wine. Perhaps it’s our cloudless skies or mild temperatures or well-drained soils. It could be our long growing season or our sustainably-farmed vineyards. Whatever the reason, the result is wines that are marked by piercingly vibrant fruit flavours and lively acidity.

We have been tending vineyards and making wine in Marlborough for over thirty years. Our home is important to us, and we see our role as a caretaker of this part of the world. We strive to minimise or eliminate any activities that are wasteful or harmful to the environment so that future generations can continue to enjoy our extraordinary landscape.

With every step of the winemaking process our goal is to preserve the incredible aromatics and scintillating structure of our wines. After harvesting, we keep the fruit as cool as possible to retain bright, fresh Marlborough fruit flavours. Gentle crushing helps to preserve the personality of the variety and the influence of the site. Our Sauvignon Blanc is kept in stainless steel tanks to maintain zesty fruit characteristics
