MIND-BLOWING DEAL!!....87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc...OFF THE RAILS!!

"The 2019 Bourdieu has a deep garnet-purple color and features vibrant notes of crushed red and black cherries, ripe plums and mulberries with wafts of menthol and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, the palate has appealing freshness with soft, juicy, uncomplicated fruit and a lifted finish." (WA)

"The 2019 Bourdieu is rich, fruity and super-expressive. Sweet floral and savory notes from the Cabernets perk up the Merlot fruit. Dark cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, red plum, mocha and licorice all build nicely in this sumptuous Côtes de Blaye. The 2019 has plenty to offer." (VM)

"This is a chewy, juicy young Bordeaux with blackberry and wet-earth character. It’s medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins. Shows structure, but could use a little more flesh to fill it out. Wait and see how it evolves." (JS)

The judges at Decanter’s 2020 World Wine Awards evaluated 8,642 red wines this year, and Château Bourdieu's 2019 Cotes de Bordeaux was one of just five Bordeaux to score 97 points or higher (it was in good company alongside Bellevue Cardon Pauillac and Haut-Breton Margaux). Yes, there is plenty to smile about in this blend of 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc:

"Flamboyant and deep, with ample, lush and fresh forest fruits, bramble and cassis, with cascading sweet spice swifty following. A super, brooding wine which will shine brighter with time. 97 points." - Decanter World Wine Awards

Chateau Bourdieu is owned by Mr. Luc Schweitzer, who purchased the property in 1993. He used to pass the estate on his way to school as a young boy, and when he later learned of the estate’s quality clay and limestone soil, he decided to buy it. Over the past 27 years, Luc has enhanced the vineyard and estate, which today comprises 75 hectares. He manages the vineyard today with his two sons, who share their father’s passion for quality and terroir.

The 2019 Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Vinified in stainless steel.

"Flamboyant and deep, with ample, lush and fresh forest fruits, bramble and cassis, with cascading sweet spice swiftly following. A super, brooding wine which will shine brighter with time."
