"The 2018 Pinot Noir Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard, from Pommard and Swan clone vines planted in 1990, has a medium ruby-purple color and broody scents of spiced cranberry sauce, baked blackberries, prosciutto, bergamot and saline. The palate is medium-bodied with slowly expanding fruits accented by loads of inherent spiciness and a mineral streak. It has a grainy frame and great freshness, finishing very long. Lovely! 423 cases were made." (WA)

Winery Notes:
In 2014, we had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase the 3-Starrs Vineyard. The team was so impressed with five tons of Chardonnay they had purchased in 2013 from this Eastside Road property that when all 30 acres came up for sale, John jumped at the chance to add it to the Williams Selyem estate portfolio.

Now named Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard, in honor of John Dyson’s grandfather who first taught him about agriculture by planting tomatoes in their front yard, this property is destined to produce exemplary fruit. The first release of these wines was in 2016. New Pinot Noir clones were planted to replace the Chardonnay, which initially dominated the acreage. The existing clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have already produced stellar wines. This is an exciting new vineyard for the winery.
