"Green tea, herb and fresh loam notes add an appealing backdrop to the core of cherry and strawberry flavors, with notes of matcha on the firming finish. Drink now. 600 cases made, 600 cases imported. -MW" (WS)

"A 500-case blend, the 2018 Gorgeous Grenache features generous aromas of raspberries and black tea. It's medium to full-bodied and a bit dry and dusty on the palate, with savory overtones on the finish. Despite the tannin, I'd opt for drinking this young, just pair it with something a little fatty, like burgers or charcuterie.

A partnership between two masters of wine, Giles Cooke and Fergal Tynan, Thistledown specializes in small lots of single-vineyard wines from South Australia. The wines are made at the former Nepenthe facility in the Adelaide Hills by winemaker Peter Leske. Most of the bottlings are under 500 cases, but the Cloud Cuckoo Land wines-Italianate varieties from the Riverland—and Wild & Wilder wines-Cabernet and Shiraz from Langhorne Creek-are made in larger volumes, up to 5,000 cases." (WA)

"Unmistakable fresh flowers and red berries here that are delivered amid gently earthy notes. The palate has a plush, vibrant and attractive feel with juicy, upbeat tannins to close. Drink now. Screw cap." (JS)

"This is a full-bodied wine for the variety, but it's not without elegance. It leads with aromas of red currant, strawberry, rose petals, stalks, pepper and a savory, slightly sanguine tone. The palate is gripped by tightly wound, granular tannins that are counteracted by a satiny texture and plump, fleshy red fruit. -Christina Pickard" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Sourced from several Grenache vineyards across South Australia, including some of the region’s most iconic sites, Gorgeous Grenache displays a beautifully perfumed nose with hints of violets and wild strawberry. The palate is succulent, juicy and Pinot-like in its profile while the finish is savoury and moreish.
