"The young 2018 OGV Old Garnacha Vine has a mealy nose with notes of cereals and ripe berry fruit. It's a collaboration with the family and Alonso López and sold through Mesa Imports in the US (a different importer). It's nicely crafted, varietal and ripe without excess, juicy and keeping the balance and freshness. 32,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2020.

The cooperative of the village of Villarroya De La Sierra has started separating vineyards and zones within their village, fermenting and bottling some of them separately. Their 40 members have 244 hectares of vineyards, but nine of them are responsible for 70% of their total production. They are focusing on quality, which I think is the way to go." (WA)

"A dark burgundy color and a nose with reduced notes of black olive, asphalt and black plum lead to an edgy palate with grating acidity. Plum, wild berry and herbal flavors are a bit soapy, while this is voluminous but unrefined on the finish. -Michael Schachner" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Dark ruby color with shades of purple. Sexy and silky palate, spice accented blackberry and cherry aromas and a brilliant ruby color with violet notes. This distinctly Garnacha wine finishes with excellent length and warm tannins.
