"GOOD VALUE, Beckmen's Cuvée Le Bec is a forthrightly fruity wine of moderate richness and range with plenty of open and easy appeal even though very young. It is slightly supple in feel with but a modest underpinning and smells and tastes of ripe red berries with a bare wisp of savory spice. It has room for a few years of growth but drinks nicely right now, and it offers plenty to like at the price. Reviewed: March 2020" (CG)

"A year-in, year-out winner, the 2018 Cuvée le Bec checks in as a blend of 45% Syrah, 39% Grenache, 9% Mourvèdre, and 7% Counoise that saw a touch of stems and 16 months in just 15% new French oak. Lots of spiced red and black fruits, exotic spice, sappy herbs, and peppery notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a rounded, supple texture and a good finish. It's going to drink nicely for 4-5 years." (JD)

"Editor's Choice, This blend of 45% Syrah, 39% Grenache, 9% Mourvèdre and 7% Counoise offers lush aromas of violet, lilac, lavender, vanilla and blueberry on the nose. The palate offers plenty of black currant and spice flavors, with sandy tannins and fresh acidity holding it all in check. -Matt Kettmann" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Our largest single production, the Cuvee Le Bec has always been an incredible value wine in our portfolio. A red Rhone style blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Counoise, the core of the CLB is balance. Harvested from vineyards on both our Winery Estate and Purisima Mountain Vineyard, the wine is predominately Grenache and Syrah in most vintages with lesser portions of Mourvedre and Counoise. Based on the Village wines of the Cotes du Rhone, the CLB shows great old world complexity and elegance and ripe California fruit.
