"The aromatic expression of the 2017 Concreto Malbec is completely different from the 2016. This is a lot more open, floral and gentle, with a more polished and sleek palate with more integrated acidity. A wine of tremendous energy, it was kept in concrete all its life (hence the name) until it was bottled. 25,000 bottles were filled in December 2018, just before the next harvest.

Zuccardi keeps going from strength to strength and is doing incredible work in the vineyards. They have bought some 35 hectares of land in Gualtallary and are going to plant plots there. The wines keep reflecting the incredible R+D work they do. The Aluvional and PolĂgonos wines are not only superb, they also have an incredible price for the quality and character they deliver. And the top-of-the-range wines are better than ever, even in a challenging year like 2015. Zuccardi is clearly among the top wineries of the country-and improving each year. Bravo!" (WA)

"(from a selection of stony soils on this 42-hectare property; vinified with 100% whole clusters--vs. 30% to 70% for Zuccardi's other reds--and aged entirely in concrete): Saturated bright, dark ruby. Very pure aromas of dark fruits and flowers; great Malbec fruit without any make-up. Then plush, sweet and pristine on the palate, conveying the full ripeness of the 2017 vintage in its almost chocolatey ripeness. The wine's broad tannins reach the incisors. Finishes with lingering notes of red and black fruits and spices. This wine is done in a Burgundy bottle." (VM)

"This is a unique wine for Mendoza with a cool-fruit and serious slate character. Undertones of dried herbs and bark. Full body, integrated fruit and tannins. Wet earth, too. Reminds me of the reds in Spain's Galicia, but so new in Argentina. Drink now but better in 2020." (JS)

"Calm and pure blackberry and cassis aromas feed into an intense palate with freshness and rubbery tannins. While not loud, this goes heavy on the gas and features edgy dark-berry flavors. A rock-solid finish confirms the structure on this cement-fermented-and-aged Malbec from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley. Drink through 2025." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Fermentation in concrete vats without epoxi, with indigenous yeast, maceration for 20 days.Malolatic fermentation and aging in concrete vats. Half of the wine is fermented with whole cluster.

Tasting Notes:
Red color with violet hues. It expresses a great herbal character with notes of red fruits, strawberry, cherry and plum. In the mouth is prolonged and deep. Distinctive mineral notes. A wine of great structure and acidity.
