"A clean, lemony flavor is focused by the vibrant acidity, propelling this white to a fine finish. Apple, vanilla and clove notes add interest midpalate, where this verges on creamy, turning crisper toward the end. Drink now through 2023. 1,100 cases made, 425 cases imported. -BS" (WS)

"Exhibiting aromas of warm bread, orange oil and crisp yellow apple, Latour's 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Château de Blagny is medium to full-bodied, succulent and lively, with a vibrant core of fruit and a saline finish. It has turned out well." (WA)

"There’s a very exotic array of ripe-peach aromas on the nose here. Melon notes, too. The palate has a very attractive, rich and expansive thread with a wealth of pithy, fleshy fruit flavor. Drink in the next eight years." (JS)

"A mild whiff of post-bottling sulfur presently fights a bit with the very fresh and cool aromas of citrus and mostly white-fleshed fruit. There is an appealing mouth feel to the attractively intense middle weight flavors that possess solid definition and a subtle minerality that comes up on the lingering finish that is shaped by lemon-lime tinged acidity. This will need at least a few years to unwind and add depth but it should be approachable relatively early on." (BH)

"This wine has opulence as well as a fresher side. Its fruitiness displays an exotic character as well as fresher, citrus aspects. With its structure and minerality, the wine needs time. Drink from 2022. -Roger Voss" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive southerly white wine commune of the Côte-d'Or. Surprisingly enough for an appellation of this quality, no Grand Cru exists, however the high quality of the 1er Cru more then compensates for this. An exclusive of Maison Louis Latour (monopole), the vineyards constituting the estate of the Château de Blagny are located high on the hillside overlooking Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. Château de Blagny is the most important domaine in the commune.
