NOW LAST CALL FROM THE GREAT 2017 VINTAGE!!

"The 2017 Bernkasteler Badstube Spätlese is generous, warm, ripe and intense on the nose. It is round and lush on the palate, with a creamy and mouth-filling texture, pretty tropical fruit and fine honey flavors and a salty-piquant drive. This is a rich and juicy but fresh, elegant and very promising Badstube with good mineral grip and tension. Tasted in March 2019.

Katharina Prüm started harvesting on September 25th in 2017, benefited from a golden sunny October and finished in a little bit more than three weeks on October 18. The team picked all predicates from Kabinett (the Graacher Himmelreich is one of the finest produced in the Mosel that year) to TBA yet with a focus on Spätlese and Auslesen, which are absolutely fabulous in their purity, finesse and weightless elegance. Only the higher predicates, including the gold-capsuled Auslesen, are based on a good amount of carefully selected botrytis and overwhelming quality. Prüm also produced BAs and TBAs in Graach and Wehlen, which will be released later and which I didn't taste so far. 2017 is another great collection for this iconic family domaine in Wehlen. " (WA)

"This 2017er Bernkasteler Badstube Spätlese is slightly reductive at first, but is quick to reveal a really refreshing, cool and appealing nose of herbs, lemongrass, smoke, grapefruit zest and laurel. The wine has the creamy and juicy presence of an Auslese (certainly by Joh. Jos. Prüm standards) on the palate, w here almond paste and some coconut cream drive the flavors. The finish is superbly juicy, light and very charming, even if only medium-long at this stage. 2025-2037." (FWR)
