"From the Clos des Capucins, the 2017 Alsace Gewurztraminer Cuvée Théo is clear, fresh and flinty on the nose. Rich, intense and structured on the palate, this is a powerful, dense and pretty persistent Gewurtz that was harvested around mid-October. Tasted October 2018." (WA)

"Good pale golden yellow. A remarkably floral (violet!) note greets the nose, which is redolent of tropical fruit and sweet spices. Enters bright and juicy, then slightly austere in the middle, with a risingly tannic finish. This shows a little alcohol-derived heat (the label says 14% alcohol); better today on the archetypal Gewürz nose than the slightly austere finish. " (VM)

Winery Notes:
Great as an aperitif, ideally suited to pair with spicy cooking such as Indian, Mexican, and Moroccan dishes as well as Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food. Smoked salmon, foie gras, and rich and mature cheeses also make a perfect match.
