"(from fruit picked on August 30): Ripe but subdued aromas of clove and menthol. Broad and nicely concentrated for the vintage, displaying good depth and spice character; this is from old vines, some of which were planted at the same time as Michelot's Charmes du Bas. Finishes tactile and dry. Bitouzet planned to bottle this wine by the end of June and bottle it before the harvest. It should offer early appeal." (VM)

"A whiff of matchstick character sits atop the aromas of petrol, pear and apple. There is good energy to the slightly richer and more voluminous flavors that conclude in a complex and markedly dry finish. This is quite good for its level plus it will age for a few years too." (BH)

Winery Notes:
Bourgogne Blanc: The parcel for this cuvée is the lieu-dit in Meursault known as “Les Herbeaux”, in the northern quadrant of Meursault just underneath the 1er Cru “Les Malpoiriers”. Bitouzet exploits 0.71 hectares and the vines were planted in 1953 with a section recently replanted in 2010 which is not yet in production.
