"The 2017 Chardonnay Indian Wells Vineyard is a workhorse with a one million-case production that still manages to have a clean and soft nose of subtle oak, ripe apples and lemon aromas. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a healthy core of fruit and balanced acidity that lingers onto the finish along with fresh flavors that deliver a classic expression of Chardonnay at a great value." "Bright medium yellow. More tropical-fruity on the nose than the Canoe Ridge Estate bottling, with pineapple and toffee aromas dominating. Rich, fruit-driven and tactile but not heavy; actually lower in alcohol than Chateau Ste. Michelle's other two 2017 Chardonnays but with a more New World flavor profile. Finishes a touch dry but with good persistence. Cleanly made and fairly intense but could use a bit more nuance and definition. (13.5% alcohol; from warmer sites)" (VM)
