Clay hillsides (ancient alluvium), limestone marl, pebbles. Aged in wooden vats (conical) and concrete tanks. ‘Les Deux Albion’ is a celebration of the boundless potential of the southern Côtes du Rhône. This extensive area, marked by geological and climatic diversity, is the birthplace of wines showing incredible quality. The variety of possible styles, helped by the range of grape varieties that can be grown, increases tenfold the appeal of a region whose countless facets have yet to be fully discovered. Co-fermentation is particularly important here. This is alchemy. Sometimes a winegrower has to accept that to perfect his or her skills not everything can be explained. And actually it is for the best: a little mystery enshrouds wine in pleasure and questions. In 2017 Deux Albions expresses itself with intensity and depth. The red berry fruits fuse with floral aromas of peony and violet. The tiny yields are slightly reminiscent of the 2013 vintage and produce tight-knit textures. If you have some, don’t forget to uncork a bottle of mature Deux Albion. It is always well worth it.

Strawberry, gingerbread, violet.

Bottled without filtration
