"A textbook Sangiovese, offering cherry, leather, earth and wild herb flavors that fade into light, dusty tannins. Very elegant, with fine length. Drink now. 3,300 cases made, 1,300 cases imported. -BS" (WS)

"Red and darker cherries, as well as red plums and spices. Medium body, fresh acidity and a fruity finish. Drink now." (JS)

"Woodland-berry, fragrant blue-flower, wild-herb and new leather aromas lead the nose. Fresh and savory, the smooth accessible palate doles out raspberry compote, juicy Marasca cherry and licorice framed in polished tannins. Drink through 2021. -Kerin O’Keefe" (WE)

Winery Notes:
In the latter half of the 1990s, six hectares of vineyards were planted to Sangiovese for Rosso di Montalcino DOC on the Campogiovanni estate. This wine amply exhibits the great versatility of Sangiovese which can produce high-quality results even in a wine less structured and complex than Brunello. This beautifully balanced Rosso di Montalcino , matured 12 months in Slavonian oak casks, exhibits elegant aromas and lively appealing flavour on the palate.
