"Clean and pure, with a mix of supple dark berry, cedar, licorice, loamy earth and gravel flavors. Drink now through 2028. 28,000 cases made. -JL " (WS)

"Pretty much as ripe as its sibling above if just a touch softer overall and equally beginning to show an inviting side even now, this full-bodied effort needs but two or three years to find its way to the table. Its youthful flavors notwithstanding, it is one that has early charms and is not unreasonably priced. A grilled steak would be just the right ticket. Reviewed: April 2019" (CG)

Winery Notes:
Winery Background:
Roth Estate is a bold expression of luxury Bordeaux varietals from Sonoma County’s best AVAs. Initially a tier of Lancaster Estate, in 2001 Roth started producing Cabernet Sauvignon blends from exceptional hillside locations in the famed Alexander Valley as a tribute to the founder’s maternal family name. Soon Roth established a cult following to warrant its own winery. Today, Roth has grown to be recognized for its history of high acclaim and strong commitment to producing bold, powerful Bordeaux wines with the truest and best expression of the land.

2016 Vintage:
The 2016 vintage was marked by exceptional quality and concentration in the Alexander Valley. Steady rainfall in the winter helped to replenish the dryer soil from the prior years. After harvest, the wine was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks where the fruit was cold-soaked and pumped over once a day for several days. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was transferred to barrel and stirred weekly until malolactic fermentation was complete. It was aged in French, Hungarian and American oak (30% new) for 17 months prior to bottling.
