ONE OF TWENTY "BEST SELLERS" FROM FAMED VIRGINIA IMPORTER FRAN KYSELA IMPORT BOOK!! OH BY THE WAY DID I MENTION A "BEST BUY" HERE AT THE LAWC AS WELL?

SUPER UNDER-PRICED! DRINKS GREAT NOW!

"The young and juicy 2016 Cuvée KPF from Rioja Alavesa is a custom cuvée from Bodegas y Viñedos Labastida for the American importer Kysela. It has a fruit-driven profile, with plenty of cherries and a spicy touch. The palate is round and soft, medium-bodied, with pungent, clean flavors. 360,000 bottles produced." (WA)

"Vivid ruby-red. Sexy, oak-tinged red berry and floral pastille scents pick up vanilla and licorice flourishes with aeration. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors that unfold and spread out steadily on the back half. Shows impressive clarity and spicy persistence on the lively finish, which is given shape by smooth, even tannins." (VM)

"Made from 100% Tempranillo, the 2016 Rioja Montebuena is a single vineyard release brought up in American oak. It has attractive darker berry fruits, vanilla bean, and spicy, incense notes as well as a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, charming style on the palate. It’s a terrific value and would be ideal as a house red to enjoy over the coming couple of years." (JD)

"BEST BUY, Earthy plum, cherry and raspberry aromas comprise a level nose with a hint of green. On the palate, this is smacking but full, with wiry acidity. Plum and berry flavors finish well but short, without much follow-through. -Michael Schachner" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Produced from 100% Tempranillo grapes, which are hand harvested from the Montebuena vineyard.

Brilliant deep ruby red color, fruity aromas. Montebuena Red has a spicy vanilla bouquet and is smooth and fruity in the mouth with some well-integrated secondary nuances, full-flavored and a persistent pleasant finish.
