"Dried black cherry, cola, nutmeg and earthy black-plum aromas show on the nose of this bottling. The black-plum character flows into the palate, where purple-flower elements also arise. -Matt Kettmann" (WE)

Winery Notes:
Tasting Notes:
All Zinfandel. All Paso Robles. The nose is very ripe, concentrated aromas of red fruit, leather, earth, spice, and herbs leading to a very structured, full mouthfeel. Complex flavors of peach cobbler, chalk, dried herbs, and earth give way to an array of blackberry, strawberry, and unexpected apple.

Vineyard Notes:
The 2016 vintage started off with respectable weather through bloom and set. Our first bit of 100-degree weather came during the sizing phase which affected berry growth on many of our varietals. In September, the ripening was lengthened with the hot and cool temperature swings. Overall, winemakers are optimistic about the yields with no significant factors like freezes or prolonged heat spikes affecting the crop.

Winemaker Notes:
“In true Paso form, this is a wild west Zin.”
