LAST CALL!!.....100% FRANC!

"A bit riper and more tannic than the usually offering from Lang & Reed and a wine that is fruity and yet shades to a bit of the wet-leaf the vegetation to which Cabernet Franc often tends, this one is, at this point, moderately full, fairly firm and just a little ragged with a slight tannic rise at the finish. It does not ask for a lengthy stay in the cellar, and its slight coarseness will be mitigated by service with food, but even a year or two more of time in the bottle will make for a more polite wine. Reviewed: May 2020" (CG)

"Cellar Selection, This handsome, full-bodied wine shows the sturdy, muscular aspect of Cabernet Franc in its structure of firm tannins while holding its complex graphite, tobacco, blackberry and singed herb flavors slightly in check. It opens and ripens beautifully in the glass, and will be best after 2023. -Jim Gordon " (WE)

Winery Notes:
The 2016 North Coast Cabernet Franc has a deep saturated red color alongside the typical hint of blue/violet on the rim. This vintage is a solid powerhouse, and the aromas are rich, with a combination of dark berry fruit and "garrigue", a heady mix of herbs like lavender, sage, and rosemary. On the palate, the aromas are matched with moderately full flavors and a firm structure, making the impression long and pleasant. The combination of all this creates a great wine to quaff with a mixed grill, yet one that also has the persistence to age very well for a couple more years.
