"A polished and easy style, featuring inviting layers of creamed raspberry and plum fruit, laced with warm cocoa and tobacco notes. Sage accents on the finish add some range. The slightly rugged grip needs a little time to soften. Best from 2021 through 2028. 944 cases made. -JM" (WS)

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Veraison charges out of the gate with bold, vibrant blackberry pie, redcurrant jelly and warm cassis scents plus nuances of dried Provence herbs, tilled soil, pencil lead, moss-covered bark and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate features very impressive freshness and delineation with a firm, grainy texture and a racy line lifting the long finish."(WA)

"This offers a streak of mountain herbs through ripe blackcurrants and red plums, leading to a forthright, assertively structured palate that brings a swathe of oak spice to close it out. Spicy, toasty aftertaste. Give this a little time to integrate. Try from 2020." (JS)

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Veraison, which was brought up in 90% new French oak, is another complex, layered wine from this team. Ample dark fruits, damp earth, leafy herbs, and graphite aromas and flavors all emerge from this full-bodied, ultra-pure, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that has the class to evolve gracefully for two decades." (JD)

Winery Notes:
Aromas of ripe blackberry, currant, dark cherry and baking spices lift from the glass of this elegant mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. The lush mouthfeel shows dark fruit coupled with hints of cedar and anise. Bright acidity is balanced by rounded tannins with a touch of black pepper on the finish. Pair with grilled bone-in ribeye in rosemary butter with roasted root vegetables or a medium rare cheeseburger with aged cheddar, sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions. Drink now through 2035.
