"The 2016 Bourgogne Rouge comes from a single parcel between the RN74 autoroute and the railway. It offers light red cherries and raspberry on the nose. The palate is fresh on the entry with grainy tannin, nicely balanced with a patina of wood conspicuous on the finish that will be subsumed with 12 months in bottle." (WA)

"A fresh and very pretty nose features mostly aromas of various red berries that are spiked with soft wood and earth wisps. I like the texture of the nicely vibrant and naturally sweet flavors that possess only a trace of rusticity on the sneaky long finale. Worth a look." (BH)

Winery Notes:
It was in 1830 that the GROS family set up in Vosne-Romanée. Today, Michel GROS, sixth generation of this dynasty of winemakers, continues and develops the work undertaken by his ancestors, as do his sister (Domaine AF Gros), his brother (Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur) and his cousin (Domaine Anne Gros). Passionate but also very rigorous, Michel GROS brings constant care to the development of his wines, by mastering all the stages of production, from vine through to bottling. Modest and unassuming, he expresses himself through his wines: generous, fine, elegant, of reliable and even quality.

Delicious red cherry aroma. Fresh and splashing red fruit on the palate. Pure, lively acidity. The acidity is fresh, but not at all hard. Lightly rounded. Sweet fruit on the finish. Just nicely placed light tannins. Spot on Bourgogne.
