"Features a solid streak of raspberry and red currant coulis flavors running through, with light lavender, anise and singed balsam wood notes filling in through the finish. Drink now through 2020. 4,500 cases made. -JM " (WS)

"Last of the 2016s, the 2016 Rasteau looks to be another terrific vintage for this cuvée. Made from 80% Grenache, 17% Syrah and the balance Mourvèdre, it’s a big, ripe, full-bodied effort that offers classic notes of black cherries, scorched earth, peppery herbs, and charcoal. It should certainly be an outstanding wine and I suspect will last nicely through 2026." (JD)

Winery Notes:
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah.

This highly concentrated wine, made from vines planted on the best slopes and terraces of the famous Rasteau soils, has an appealingly strong personality.

Besides aromas of very ripe fruit, it is generally laced with notes of spice and garrigue scrubland scents specific to this terroir.

Appealing tannic structure, a rounded body, rich and powerful…this is the Beaurenard's typically strong character.
