"Minerally and filled with plenty of fresh-crushed spice and dried herbal notes to the ebullient dried raspberry, currant and cherry flavors. Cocoa powder accents show on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 1,125 cases made. -KM" (WS)

"Dehlinger's 2016 Chardonnay Estate is gorgeous. Supple and beautifully resonant, the 2016 is super-expressive today. In fact, the 2016 is one of the more harmonious, refined young vintages of this wine I can remember tasting. Orange peel, honey, chamomile and wild flower are all wonderfully delineated. This is a great example of Wente Clone Chardonnay." (VM)

Winery Notes:
This wine is our flagship and mainstay Pinot noir bottling. The red, clay-rich altamont soil marbled throughout the land was a factor that initially attracted Tom Dehlinger to what was to become the family ranch in the early 1970s. Four decades of winemaking later, we are still fascinated by the strength and character of wine grown in this rare soil type. The 2016 Altamont Pinot noir, which shows glimmers of ruby, smells of cherry, toffee, and dark raspberry. We find this wine to be balanced and nuanced, with its fruit framed by refined, chalky tannins.
