YET ANOTHER CRAZY LAWC BARGAIN FROM THIS GREAT VINTAGE!!...$40-$45 RELEASE PRICE!!...THREE BOTTLE MIN. PURCHASE PLEASE!

"Bright, with high-pitched raspberry and bitter cherry coulis notes, lined with savory and wet stone accents. Brisk-edged finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2021. 20,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported. -JM" (WS)

"The 2016 La Bernadotte has a clean and precise bouquet with cigar smoke infused blackcurrant and bilberry fruit. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied and a little too oaky on the entry, however, there is satisfying depth to this Haut-Medoc and I appreciate the savory finish." (WA)

"The 2016 Bernadotte has a fresh, minty, Pauillac-like bouquet that is well defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, brittle tannin matched with a fine bead of acidity. This feels fresh and focused, with a classic graphite-tinged finish that feels classy. Excellent. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux." (VM)

"This has aromas of boysenberries and dark berries with a wealth of bracken and gently tarry aromas, too. The palate has a fresh, fleshy and quite concentrated feel with fine tannins that hold the finish long. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. Try from 2023." (JS)

"This estate, with its historic connections with the Swedish royal family, is now performing well. This latest vintage, with its rich tannins and dense flavors, has concentration as well as attractive black-fruit lusciousness. Drink this well-balanced wine from 2023. -Roger Voss " (WE)

"Light in color, medium-bodied and on the spicy red fruit range, this needs to be opened in its youth for the maximum amount of pleasure. 900 Views Tasted Sep 21, 2019" (JL)

Winery Notes:
THE PROPERTY:
Château Bernadotte, formerly owned by Champagne Louis Roederer and Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, has recently been acquired by a Hong Kong family. The estate has a great terroir, bordering prestigious Pauillac classified growths. The new Cru Bourgeois classification has recognized Bernadotte’s quality, history and singularity, awarding Bernadotte, Crus Bourgeois, Supérieur.

THE VINEYARD:
The terroir (45 hectares) is made of sandy gravel and clay limestone. On average, the vines are 30 years old.

GRAPE VARIETY:
56% MERLOT – 43% CABERNET SAUVIGNON – 1% PETIT VERDOT

PHILOSOPHY:
Château Bernadotte’s philosophy is to produce more elegant and more refined wines while respecting its terroir and its former glory. As an example, the use of oak is more moderate these days to enhance fruitiness and freshness.
