"Offers a burst of plum and black cherry compote flavors, backed by licorice notes and a hint of blueberry cobbler. Maintains an ebullient profile through the polished, moderately toasted and accessible finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Drink now through 2022. 4,997 cases made." (WS)

"The 2016 Estate Red is a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot and 7% Merlot. Deep ruby-purple, it's scented of pencil lead, cedar, cassis, maraschino cherry, cigar box and chocolate with touches of cardamom and dried spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied and lushly fruited, with a firm frame of very ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long. 4,998 cases produced." (WA)

"This blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot and 7% Merlot is concentrated and rich. The full-bodied palate is built by thick tannins, with flavors of earthy dried herb and blackberry jam that linger on the finish. -Virginie Boone" (WE)

"8. 2016 Chalk Hill, Chalk Hill, Sonoma County ($85) – Medium-dark to dark ruby; blackberry and boysenberry fruit aroma with hints of cedar and cassis; full body; rich, textured, cedary, dark fruit flavors with a note of milk chocolate and a bit rough on the finish; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Very highly recommended. 15.4% alcohol; 360 cases; 100% CS; released December 2018. (Group Score: 16.3, 1/1/0; My Score: 17 [90/100], eighth place)" (CGV)

Winery Notes:
A unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Carmenere, Merlot, and Syrah, tightly wound with velvety textures. Very appealing in its youth, but will also age beautifully for the next 10 years.
