"Coming from a newly planted site located around the estate, the 2015 Syrah Tensley Vineyard is reminiscent of a top flight Cornas with its meaty, savory, crushed rock and smoked dark fruit aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured and with fine tannin, it shows the potential from this young vineyard." (WA)

"The 2015 Syrah Tensley Vineyard, from Tensley's home property in Los Olivos, wraps around the palate with striking depth nuance. Lavender, mint, plums, black cherries and licorice flesh out in a dark, voluptuous, fruit-driven Syrah that will be delicious pretty much upon release. The 2015 is dark, sumptuous and pretty much impossible to resist." (VM)

Winery Notes:
Our son, Oliver, planted the first vine in the Tensley Estate Vineyard, and we can still pick that vine out from our kitchen window. In short, this vineyard is very special to us, so we couldn’t be happier that our wine club members as well as wine critics Jeb Dunnuck and Antonio Galloni have embraced this wine wholeheartedly. As young as it is, the grapes from this vineyard show amazing sophistication and complexity. In fact, Dunnuck has called it “reminiscent of a top-flight Cornas.” Look for notes of lavender, plums, black cherries and licorice. This wine is full-bodied and approachable now but is also sure to age well over the next 8 to 12 years.
