"I looked at three barrel samples of 2015s. The 2015 The Ranch Proprietary Red (75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot looks like a big, juicy, opaque purple Cabernet made with loads of glycerin, sucrosity and extract. It is soft, juicy, succulent like so many 2015s, but I expect the extravagance of fruit is hiding some underlying tannin. This should drink well for 15-20 years." (WA)

"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is soft, racy and absolutely delicious. Even with all of its natural intensity, the 2015 retains striking freshness and nuance. Sweet red-toned fruit and floral notes give this gracious, mid-weight Cabernet an air of pure charm that will make it easy to drink upon release." (VM)

Winery Notes:
Our “Ranch” Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes grown in our Lost Orchard, Lower, and Brothers Vineyards, blended with Merlot and Petit Verdot – all estate fruit which comes together to create a powerful but approachable wine in a classic Bordeaux style. Writing in Vinous, Antonio Galloni describes the '15 Ranch as "soft, racy and absolutely delicious. Even with all of its natural intensity, the 2015 retains striking freshness and nuance. Sweet red-toned fruit and floral notes give this gracious, mid-weight Cabernet an air of pure charm ..." 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. 1,292 cases made.
