100% CABERNET SAUVIGNON

"Big and spicy, with plenty of mocha notes to the plum tart and cherry pie flavors. Juicy and ripe on the finish. Drink now. 44,332 cases made. -K.M." (WS)

"This is a big but balanced expression of Cabernet that is ready to drink now. Layers of black cherry, caramel, vanilla, smoke and crushed black rocks show on the lavish nose. The palate's chalky texture is immediately apparent, with vibrant acidity that carries forth a rich crème de cassis flavor and finishes on roasted coffee and milk chocolate." (WE)

Winery Notes:
GROWING SEASON & VINEYARD DETAILS:
A very challenging harvest in terms of weather. Hampered by rain and cold weather during bloom, fruit-fullness on the vines was well below average. Post bloom, we had perfect warm weather. Both these factors lead to an earlier than normal harvest for Cabernet Sauvignon as well as all other varietals. Berries and clusters were very small leading to harvest.

TASTING NOTES:
A bouquet bursting with notes of mocha, coffee, toasted oak, vanilla, black currant, and licorice. Expansive flavors and the round viscous mouthfeel backed with concentrated tannic structure carry through to the smooth, lavish finish.

The robust flavors are a great complement to braised short ribs, mushroom stroganoff, or a charred Gruyère burger.
