"The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Poggio Rosso is layered and rich with a soft and contemporary personality. Black cherry, cured tobacco and spice reach a place of harmony and unity. This warm-vintage Gran Selezione is supple, rich and immediately accessible. You can drink it now or wait a bit longer. Either way, this wine will entice you with its dark fruit flavors. This wine ages in 500-liter French oak barrels for 20 months. Only 8,000 bottles were made." (WA)

"The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Poggio Rosso is powerful and intense, with muscular tannins that give the wine its sinewy feel. Iron, smoke, crushed rocks, dried rose petal, mint and savory herbs are all laced together in this pretty, expressive Gran Selezione. The 2015 needs time to soften, but it is quite pretty and promising. Even so my impression is that the Poggio Rosso, San Felice's top Sangiovese, might be even more expressive with a lighter hand in extraction." (VM)

"A beautiful nose of blackcurrants, blueberries, dried nutmeg, cedar and vanilla. The palate is honed on blue-fruit flavors that are brought to life by pinpoint acidity and firm, steely tannins. A wine that embodies finesse and purity. Drink in 2021." (JS)

"Made exclusively with Sangiovese, this offers aromas of French oak and black-skinned fruit. The elegantly structured palate presents ripe Marasca cherry, cranberry, oak-driven spice, orange peel and hints of coconut alongside fine-grained tannins that give the finish some grip. -Kerin O’Keefe" (WE)
