"Big, rich and lush-tasting, with well-sculpted flavors of red berry, cherry and spice. Notes of dried beef and forest floor show on the long, refined finish. Drink now through 2023. 505 cases made. –KM " (WS)

"Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Reserve features warm cranberries, red currants and garrigue on the nose with lavender and baking spice nuances. Medium-bodied with a chewy backbone, it gives good red berry and earthy expression with a grippy finish." (WA)

"The 2015 Pinot Noir Reserve is a powerful, tightly wound wine that needs time for the fruit to emerge. Today, it is the wine's structural intensity that dominates. There is good potential here, but the 2015 is not in a mood to show all of its cards just yet. Vineyard sources are John Sebastiano and Fiddlestix." (VM)

"Clove, pepper mint, cherry and strawberry notes all emerge from the 2015 Pinot Noir Reserve, which was brought up in 53% new French oak. Medium-bodied, supple and nicely textured, it has plenty of charm, as well as complexity. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years." (JD)

"Sage and thyme lend herbal intrigue to this bottling, which also shows tangy aromas of red cherry compote. There's more herbal touches to the palate as well, with dried oregano and thyme set against a fresh pomegranate background." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Santa Rita Hills (Sta. Rita Hills AVA) has quickly become a Santa Barbara County favorite location for Pinot Noir vineyards. Our Pinot Noir Reserve is a classic example of the ultra premium quality that this area can produce. The wine has seductive aroma qualities of wild berries, rhubarb and camphor. The flavors of black cherry, cinnamon, combined with velvety tannins complete this elegant offering.

The grapes for our Reserve bottling of Pinot Noir hail from Fiddlestix Vineyard on the southwest side of the Santa Ynez Rive. Upon delivery to the winery, the grapes were gently de-stemmed, the cold soaked before the onset of fermentation. The fermenting must was then punched down by hand twice each day. The new wine was then aged in a mixture of new (43%) and older French oak barrels for 10 months prior to being bottled without fining or filtration. Only 340 cases of the Reserve Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills was produced.
