"The best white I’ve taste from this estate is unquestionably the 2015 Languedoc Blanc, which is made from 70% Roussanne and 15% each of Clairette and Grenache Blanc. Aged 11 months in barrel (17% new), it offers straight up terrific notes of white peach, white flowers, sautéed stone fruits and hints of brioche. Layered, pure, impeccably balanced and textured, it’s a serious and classy white to drink over the coming 2-3 years; and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep longer." (WA)

Winery Notes:
Coming from the chalkiest terroirs of Bébian, the Prieuré Saint Jean de Bébian Blanc is roughly 2/3 Roussanne with the remainder of the blend being Clairette, Picpoul and Grenache Blanc. The remarkably high lime content in these soils (measured at 32%) is evidenced by this wine’s piercing minerality which underpins its rich texture. Appealing in youth, it really shines after a few years in bottle.
