WHAT A VALUE!!...90% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano

"This plush red offers kirsch, plum and chocolate flavors that have a jammy character. Tangerine acidity keeps this lively, and leafy and licorice notes add interest. Tempranillo and Graciano. Drink now through 2021. 8,500 cases made. -TM" (WS)

"The 2015 Palacio del Burgo Crianza is pure Tempranillo with higher ripeness and more presence of oak, aged in new, second and third use American oak barrels with high toast for one year. I found this too oaky for my taste, and the aromas of coconut, smoke and vanilla dominate the nose. The palate revealed sweet tannins, round and lush with lots of balsamic flavors, hinting on mint and eucalyptus. For fans of oaky Rioja. 72,000 bottles produced.

Burgo Viejo was created by six families from Alfaro that got together their 200 hectares of vineyards to produce around 700,000 bottles per year." (WA)

"(fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in concrete vats) Bright violet. Vibrant red and dark berry scents are complemented by hints of cola and candied flowers. Fresh and energetic on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that deepen and become sweeter on the back half. Gentle tannins build slowly on the clinging finish but are no match for the plush, primary fruit. This delicious Rioja drinks surprisingly well already." (VM)

"You would be happy to open this, even if oak dominates the nose. It's a lovely wine with cassis and bramble and a long, smoky finish." -2018 Decanter World Wine Awards, 90 pts, SILVER MEDAL
