Aged 24 months in French oak barrels, 20% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. ยท Light ruby red color in the glass. Welcoming aromas of black cherry, mocha, clove and underbrush. Winery Notes:
We're thrilled to release our 2015 Hawk's View Vineyard Pinot Noir! This is our first wine made from Willamette Valley fruit and we couldn't be happier with the results. 2015 was one of Oregon's most extraordinary vintages in history and is being compared to Burgundy's legendary and long-lived 1959 vintage. The wine industry's leading critics are hailing Oregon's 2015 vintage as "unprecedented" and "magnificent".

We chose the coveted Hawk's View Vineyard due to its ideal growing conditions and absolutely delicious flavor profile (tasting notes below). Planted in 1991, the east-facing slopes protect the vines from the summer heat, while moderate elevation ensures optimal ripening, resulting in a juicy, balanced and elegant wine. This vineyard is meticulously maintained and it's reflected in the freshness and structure of the fruit.

We aren't the only ones who've had our eyes set on this vineyard. Well known producers such as Jackson Family's, Siduri, have been sourcing fruit from here for years. The fifty acre vineyard and the family owned winery, Hawk's View Cellars, were recently acquired by California's Ponte Family Estate. We still aren't entirely sure how we were able to acquire these sought after grapes, but we're boldly claiming this to be our best vintage yet!

Tasting Notes:
Vivid garnet in color, this Pinot opens up with elevated aromatics of rose oil, fresh picked flowers, red fruit, pine and crisp forest air. The palate is lively and powerful with juicy black cherry, rasberry, plum and a hint of Oregon's forest fauna. The mouth-feel is polished and framed by pure luscious fruit, silky fine-grained tannins and delicate nuances of toasted oak and cinnamon. This is truly a remarkable example of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and is able to be consumed at an alarmingly fast rate. We recommend at least six bottles for your cellar as the aging potential is serious.

Heather's approach is rooted in balance and non-manipulation during every phase of the winemaking process, focused on achieving an age-worthy style that reflects the purity of the fruit. By sourcing fruit from meticulously maintained vineyards in Oregon's cooler appellations, the result is fresh and structured Pinot Noir that expresses its terroir with poise.
