"Muscular tannins draw most of the attention away from otherwise distinctive blackberry, crushed stone and grilled anise flavors. Best after 2018. 370 cases made. -TF " (WS)

"Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Zinfandel Orcio Cassata Vineyard gives up notes of preserved plums, cranberry pie, baked raspberries and raisin cake with touches of dried Provence herbs, espresso and allspice. The decadently fruited, full-bodied palate gives a solid, chewy frame to rein in the boisterous fruit with lovely freshness and a very long, multilayered finish. 112 cases were made." (WA)

"The 2015 Zinfandel Cassatta Vineyard is another Sonoma Valley release. This beauty leads with its fruit and offers loads of currants, plums, blueberry, and earthy spice characteristics, full body, a rounded, voluptuous style, and beautiful purity. It gains complexity with time in the glass and, as with all of Jeff's wines, it's beautifully balanced." (JD)

Winery Notes:
Fermented and aged in a terra cota Amphora, this wine is always a mystery to me. It is the spitting image of the Cassata Zin, but more fruit driven yet at the same time more earth notes come through. Very floral and spicy with a cinnamon stick component that is as exotic and sensual as a Zinfandel can be. To truly understand this wine, one must taste along side the Cassata Zin aged in barrel. 75% Zinfandel / 25% Petite Sirah
