"There's a lovely fleshy edge to the core of crushed plum and blackberry preserve flavors in this red, while flecks of singed bay leaf and dried lavender chime in. A light tug of earth through the finish adds range and texture. Drink now through 2019. 800 cases made. –JM " (WS)

"(sourced from granite-rich soils in Crozes and Gervans): Inky ruby. Heady, mineral-laced black raspberry, cherry, licorice and olive scents, with a sexy Moroccan spice nuance emerging as the wine opens up. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, offering intense red and dark berry and floral pastille flavors that are complemented by suggestions of black cardamom and allspice. The floral and mineral qualities drive an impressively long, youthfully tannic finish that show excellent clarity and lift." (VM)

Tasting Notes:
Ripe fruit balanced out by backbone and structure, this Syrah shows plum, black pepper, pencil lead, and warming spices. Perfect with heartier comfort foods such as cassoulet or braised beef short ribs
