"Loaded with licorice and spice notes, this expressive red is round and creamy, with lightly chewy tannins and flavors of sun-dried cherry, tangy mineral and dried thyme. Drink now through 2021. 28,334 cases made.–AN " (WS)

"Here is an entry-level Aglianico from Feudi di San Gregorio, one of Campania's most prolific producers. The 2015 Irpinia Aglianico Rubrato offers an exciting and exuberant bouquet with dark fruit, pressed cherry and crème de cassis. The finish is tight and acidic with sour cherry flavors and wild blueberry. This is a great pasta wine for weeknights at home with the family.

Among these notes are my first published reviews of Feudi di San Gregorio's new Feudi Studi line. These include three expressions of Fiano, three Grecos and two Aglianicos, all from experimental single-vineyard sites. They are packaged in distinctive squat bottles and only 2,000 units were made of each. Winemaking sees 12 months in stainless steel and frequent bâtonnage. The reds spend 18 months in barrique with medium toast." (WA)

"This shows such a beautiful density and texture with licorice and blackberry character. Full and layered yet always tight and focused. A fantastic young red. Drink or hold." (JS)

"Succulent and savory, this youthful, polished red opens with enticing scents of fragrant purple flower, black-skinned fruit, dark spice and a whiff of forest floor. The juicy delicious palate doles out ripe blackberry, wild cherry, cinnamon and licorice alongside firm, chewy tannins." (WE)

Winery Notes:
An intense ruby red color, this Aglianico displays aromas of wild berries, licorice and herb. It's well-balanced with savory notes of balsamic, and pairs well with hard cheeses, eggplant parmigiana or hearty beef stew.
