"Lively and fun to drink, with easygoing raspberry and spice flavors that finish with a hint of toffee. Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2022. 2,914 cases made. –TF " (WS)

"A rich, port-like red with no hard edges, the 2015 The Big Easy offers up an inky nose of plum preserve, fruit liqueur and fig. On the palate, it's rich, velvety and full-bodied, though it remains dry on the finish despite its lashings of sweet fruit. This 2015 is a blend of 69% Syrah, 18% Petite Sirah, 11% Grenache and 2% Mourvèdre.

Fess Parker winemaker Blair Fox characterizes 2016 as "an exceptional vintage for Pinot Noir, with lots of depth, character and concentration." The vintage's heat spikes, he adds, impacted later-harvested Rhône varieties more, bringing soaring sugars. In size, this was an average crop: smaller than 2014 but larger than 2015. I was most impressed by the winery's excellent 2016 Pinot Noirs, finding a rather flaccid range of Chardonnays somewhat harder to love." (WA)

Winery Notes:
With The Big Easy we wanted to pay homage to one of our favorite cities, a culinary mecca and great supporters of our wines, New Orleans.

Notes of blackberry, plum, smoked meat, acacia flower, vanilla, pepper and black cherry are found on the nose along with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, black cherry, all spice & vanilla on the palate. Enjoy this meaty, well structured blend to a long lengthy finish with its dense chocolaty tannins.
