A majority of Grenache with a small percentage of Syrah and Mourvèdre.

"The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Le Parvis comes from a mix of terroirs, was completely destemmed and brought up all in concrete tanks. It offers lots of smoky, peppery, meaty characteristics as well as ample darker fruits, medium to full-bodied richness, solid density and a great finish. It will drink nicely through 2025.

While Ferraton is more widely known for their terrific northern Rhônes, they make a bevy of smoking values from the Southern Rhône." (WA)

"Dried flowers and fresh-turned earthy notes. This has a wealth of impressively deep-set ripe plum and berry fruits on offer. Bold fruits finish strong. Drink now." (JS)

"The 2015 Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Le Parvis checks in as a final blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre that's from various plots of galets and sandy soils in the appellation. Brought up all in concrete, it's a beautifully elegant, finesse-driven beauty that gives up savory notes of ripe cherries, currants, charcuterie, and pepper. Medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant on the palate, with fine tannin, drink it anytime over the coming decade or more." (JD)

CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE FOR UNDER $30.00 2015 “LE PARVIS”-CHATEAUNEUFDU- PAPE, FERRATON PERE & FILS

With so many Chateauneuf-du-Papes selling for over $50 and some reaching the heights of well over $100, it’s a real pleasure to come across this most appealing Chateauneuf, which is normally selling for $39 and on special for $29.95. As for which style of Chateauneuf it is, it belongs to the forward drinkable school and is now quite enjoyable and will even keep well for a decade or more.

In describing this wine I agree with Robert Parker’s Rhone wine reviewer when he writes, “The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Le Parvis comes from a mix of terroirs (soils) and was completely destemmed and brought up all in concrete tanks. It offers lots of smoky, peppery, meaty characteristics as well as ample darker fruits, medium to full-bodied richness, solid density and a great finish. It will drink nicely through 2025.”
