"The 2015 Gewurztraminer Altenbourg is clear, fresh and elegant, yet intense and distinguished on the nose where white fruit aromas are displayed along with lemon, orange and some spicy notes. Full-bodied, piquant and fresh on the palate, this is a rich and juicy, yet very elegant and firmly structured Gewurz; the 32.1 grams of residual sugar are well balanced by fine tannins and a remarkably vital freshness. The finish is really stimulating in its mouthwatering clarity and salinity." (WA)

"Bright golden-tinged yellow. Pure aromas of pink grapefruit, rose petal, cinnamon and smoked beef. Silky and quite elegant, offering wonderfully smooth flavors of pineapple, lemon and spices and enticing inner-mouth perfume. Very sweet but clean and fresh on the long finish, thanks to vibrant, harmonious acidity. Richer and deeper than the Cuvée Laurence Gewürz. Refined, precise wine exhibiting plenty of freshness for such a sun-drenched year (in fact, it is interesting to know that this wine usually expresses plenty of noble-rot-derived nuances, but not in 2015, as there was very little development of Botrytis cinerea). Made from 30- to 50-year-old vines growing in the Sigolsheim portion of the Altenbourg." (VM)

"A note of flinty reduction still hovers above the nose, signalling a wine still needing bottle age. Underneath, juicy peaches are enlivened with notes of fresh, tart passion fruit. The final picture is one of balanced poise and lasting, juicy aroma. Drink 2017–2025." (WE)
