"Ripe and focused, with a nice well of cassis and raspberry pâte de fruit flavors to draw on, while anise, singed mesquite and black tea accents skitter around. Sleek acidity carries the finish. Best from 2019 through 2030. 800 cases imported.–JM " (WS)

"A classic blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape underwent élevage in new barriques. Oaky cedar and spice notes dominate this medium to full-bodied wine, which ends on lingering notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice." (WA)

"Bright ruby-red. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of ripe red berries and licorice carry a smoky mineral topnote. Focused, penetrating and firm, showing bright lift to the raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. Closes with resonating spiciness, gripping tannins and an echo of candied red fruit." (VM)

"I loved Autard's 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and it has more depth of fruit and texture than most. Cassis, toasted spice, garrigue and hints of vanilla give way to a ripe, sweetly fruited, sexy wine that has sweet tannin and a great finish. It's already a joy to drink but is going to keep for 10-12 years. The classic cuvée is 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre that’s destemmed and aged in 30% new barrels." (JD)

"Modern in style, with oaky notes out in front, the wine serves up vanilla, and espresso over its red fruits. Round and opulent in texture, the oak is fairly strong for a Grenache wine from Chateauneuf, so some tasters are going to have a hard time with it. The wine was made from a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. The wine was aged in 30% new, French oak for 14 months." (JL)

Winery Notes:
The Chateauneuf du Pape is a concentrated and supple, balanced wine. A blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Counoise, it is brimming with dark berry fruit and notes of black pepper and dark chocolate. The wine offers a terrific bouquet and flavors of spices and cherry and berry jam. The sweet tannins and fat mid-palate culminate in a dense and powerful finish.
