"This sports an ample core of gushy blackberry and raspberry pâte de fruit flavors, lined with black licorice details and carried by a lively bramble note. Best from 2020 through 2030. -J.M." (WS)

"The 2015 Bellefont Belcier is a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon cropped at 39 hl/ha. Matured in 80% new oak, it has a sweet, ripe black cherry and boysenberry nose. At the property, the nose showed a little blowsiness, though subsequent samples exuded much more freshness. There is a touch of shoe polish here. The palate is dense and balanced with fine tannins and well-judged acidity. The palate has much more to offer than the aromatics and the lascivious finish is both harmonious and sensual, a touch of spice lingering on the aftertaste. This is a very well-crafted Saint Emilion with panache and class." (WA)

"The 2015 Bellefont-Belcier is bold, powerful and intense, with plenty of black cherry, mocha, smoke, licorice nuances. The style is quite virile and imposing, yet all the elements are in the right place. This is an especially deep Saint-Émilion, with its typical notes of gravitas very much in evidence. There is certainly plenty of personality here. Tasted three times." (VM)

"Love the nose of blackberries, black truffles, oyster shell and wet earth. Full-bodied, layered and fantastic. Firm and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Gorgeous complexity. Drink in 2020." (JS)

"I was blown away by the 2015 Château Bellefont Belcier and this knockout red is a blend of 72% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in 80% new barrel. This estate covers 13.5 hectares of prime real estate, sitting just beside Larcis-Ducasse on the plateau and south-facing hillside of the Côte Pavie. Loads of blackcurrants, black cherries, truffle, licorice and hints of chocolate all emerge from this opulent, full-bodied, inky-colored red that has boatloads of sweet tannin, a rich, deep mid-palate, and a great, great finish. There’s a little over 5,000 cases of this beauty, don't miss it. Tasted twice." (JD)

"With an attention seeking nose of flowers, cherries, licorice and cocoa, the medium/full bodied, silky, soft textured wine leaves you with sweet, ripe, fresh, juicy plums and licorice. This is a very good wine, perhaps the best produced here yet. However, things should get even better here, as the winery was recently sold to Peter Kwok, who already owns, numerous, Right Bank vineyards. 93 points - Tasted Nov 22, 2017" (JL)
