"A lively, vivacious, full style, with zippy, grapefruit-spiced acidity amid the green apple, pear and melon flavors. Ends with cleansing acidity and a splash of pithiness. Drink now through 2020. 1,934 cases made.–JL " (WS)

"The 2015 Chardonnay opens with ripe apricots, melon and buttered croissant notes plus a hint of honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate with satiny textured stone fruit goodness, finishing with good length and a racy lift. Great value!" (WA)

"Subtle aromatics ride a steely frame of straightforward acidity and subtle oak, the wine medium in build and layers. It finishes in a flourish of salty brine." (WE)

Winery Notes:
Vineyard Notes:
A cool-climate gem, Windsor Oaks Vineyard weaves through three of California’s most respected appellations: Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, and Sonoma Coast. The Chardonnay we source from this vineyard reaches its highest potential, thanks to thoughtful consideration of rootstock, clone, microclimate, soil, and sun exposure. Our Chardonnay comes from two meticulously farmed blocks, both planted to Clone 17—one on 1103 rootstock and the other on 101-14 rootstock.

Production Notes:
The 2015 growing season throughout Russian River Valley was characterized by an early bud break and early harvest. February and March were unusually warm, giving the vines a running start. As colder temperatures moved into the valley in May, ripening slowed, allowing for excellent flavor development and acidity in the grapes. Yields were down, and the relatively low yields concentrated the fruit in this vintage, which displays phenomenal quality in the glass.

Winemaker Notes:
This decadent yet balanced offering from cool-climate Russian River Valley vineyards opens with candied pineapple and key lime pie aromas, accented by notes of white flowers, brown spice, toast, vanilla, butter, and honeycomb. The palate reveals a viscous, mouth-coating texture, framed by tropical fruit and lemon meringue flavors. Hints of citrus and honeydew melon give way to minerality and refreshing acidity. A smooth finish and subtle oak undertones round out this ultra-complex Chardonnay.
