"Black currant, violet and cedar flavors are expressive, while the fluid profile keeps this red lively. Picks up earth, herb and coffee accents on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2020. 18,000 cases made. –BS " (WS)

"Made with a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Lagone shows toasty and oak-driven notes above black cherry and plum. Those oak notes of cinnamon and crushed clove emerge immediately. It takes a few moments before you identify the primary fruit. The 2015 vintage was a hot one, and the mouthfeel is extra rich and succulent as a result. Those powerful oak notes appear once again on the finish, giving the wine structure and spicy endnotes. This an excellent value for those looking for an approachable super Tuscan wine.

Owned by the Pellegrini family, Aia Vecchia delivers some fantastic value from Coastal Tuscany (between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci). I recommend the crisp and luminous Vermentino. It is a delicious and refreshing white for outdoor lunches by the poolside." (WA)

"The 2015 Lagone is very pretty and impeccably balanced. In 2015 Lagone is quite finessed and elegant in a mid-weight feel, with less of the bombastic intensity that defined early vintages. Expressive floral and spiced notes lead into a core of sweet red cherry, kirsch and menthol, rose petal and grilled herbs. Beautifully persistent, and understated, the 2015 Lagone is a winner, not to mention a terrific value." (VM)
