"Centered on juicy plum, cherry and raspberry flavors that move from supple to firm, this offers fine-grained tannins that add texture and traction. Ends with a mix of floral and anise notes. Drink now. 2,400 cases made. –JL " (WS)

"The 2014 Pinot Noir Reserve, which comes from six clones (Dijon clones 777, 828 and 115, and Pommard, Calera and Swan selections), was aged nine months in a combination of French oak. This is a bigger Pinot Noir than its sibling – finished at 14.8% alcohol – and a smaller production cuvée of 2,425 cases. The wine is complete, with a deep ruby color, a rich nose of red and blackcurrants, pomegranate, black cherry and spice box. It is deep, full-bodied, with terrific fruit intensity, adequate acidity and impressive purity. Drink it over the next 5-7 years." (WA)

"Fully ripe, showing a fair bit of fruity muscle and a Pinot that aims for richness more than delicacy, MacMurray's Reserve is a gutsy, well-extracted, if fairly inelegant, full-bodied take on the grape that is solidly fixed on defined varietal fruit. Its youthful closing tannins rough up the finish a bit but not enough as to pose any problems in the near term with food, and, if a tasty foil now with juicy cuts of beef, it will be even better if allowed to smooth and integrate for another couple of years. Reviewed: February 2017" (CG)

"Full bodied and richly layered, this wine opens aromatically with delicate rose petal, cranberry and rhubarb, which all continue on the palate. Tart and herbal, this holds additional earthiness at its core, defined by notes of forest floor and black tea." (WE)

Winery Notes:
A blend of exceptional lots from our premier Russian River Valley vineyards, the MacMurray Estate Vineyards Russian River Valley Reserve Pinot Noir shows the depth and versatility of this extraordinary region. Characterized by suave, dark-fruited aromas, the wine delivers tremendous complexity on the palate in the form of layered notes of pomegranates, cherries, boysenberry and lavender. Maturation in French oak from a variety of coopers gave the wine a smooth, rich character and hints of baking spice.
