"The 2014 Pinot Noir G Lot from Gualtallary (hence the G lot name) is produced from a warmer vintage, but the advantage here was the rains of February that refreshed the grapes. You feel the difference in vintage conditions in Pinot Noir more than in any other grape as the Pinot is much more sensitive. This 2014 shows a high degree of ripeness, with notes of dark fruit rather than red. The wine matured in French oak barrels for one year and there is good integration of the wood, perhaps some more tannins, that call for rich foods such as grilled salmon. 35,000 bottles produced." (WA)

"A pinot noir with lots of dried fruit and spice character. Full to medium body, dried strawberry and figs. Rich and juicy. More California style. Drink now." (JS)

Winery Notes:
Tasting Notes:
Beautiful garnet color with aromas of wild strawberries, saddle leather and cola root. A complex Pinot with notes of leather, spice, and cherry/raspberry confiture on the palate. Amazing aroma and finishes with an enjoyable Burgundian bent.

Food Pairing:
Pairs well with foods such as lamb chops, grilled salmon, roasted duck or chicken, and game birds. Pinot lovers may just go ahead and drink it all by itself!
