"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 (another Stagecoach Vineyard wine) carries the motto from co-proprietors Jan and Bart Krupp: “Born from stone, cloaked in elegance,” and that seems to be an apt descriptor. Inky purple in color, with crème de cassis, blackberry, licorice and floral notes, this is another pedal-to-the-metal, super-rich Cabernet Sauvignon, but it is also elegant and not the least bit cloying or rustic. This is another sensational effort that seems to be suggesting that the Krupp brothers are pushing the envelope to higher and higher quality. This wine certainly showcases this wonderfully charming and seductive vintage brilliantly. Drink it over the next 20 years." (WA)

"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 is a dark, unctuous wine. Crème de cassis, new leather, sweet French oak and spices are fused together in a deep, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 will be even better in another few years, although it has more than enough inner sweetness to drink well with minimal cellaring." (VM)

"Aromas of currants and rose petals follow through to a medium body, round and silky tannins and a savory finish. Delicious now." (JS)

"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 is heavenly stuff which was brought up in new French oak for two years. This vibrant purple colored beauty boasts sensational notes of cassis, forest floor and spring flowers, with just a hint of background oak coming through with time in the glass. With a huge, super concentrated style, fine tannin, impeccable balance and a gorgeous finish, it’s one sexy beast of a Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 15-20 years." (JD)

Winery Notes:
Dark garnet in color with opulent aromas of blackberry, lush dark plum, violets and a hint of orange marmalade. Velvety and plush upon entry, with sumptuous flavors of cassis, anise and bittersweet chocolate that carry through to a lingering finish. The 2014 vintage saw early bud break and a consistently warm spring and summer leading to an early harvest characterized by even ripening and rounded, mature tannins. Pair with seasoned rib eye steak and rosemary roasted potatoes or pepper-crusted ahi tuna. Drink now through 2034.
