100% Muscat de Frontignan

"Creamed persimmon, yellow apple, quince and mirabelle plum notes weave together seamlessly in this version, gilded with heather, honey and green tea accents. This is rich, but the brightness and a lovely bitter orange flash add detail on the finish. Muscat de Frontignan. Drink now through 2030. 3,000 cases made. -JM " (WS)

"The 2014 Vin de Constance was assembled from 15 lots and matured in 33% new French oak, 5% Hungarian oak and 2% acacia for three years, the first vintage to use the new fermentation tanks in the renovated winery. It has 172gm/L residual sugar and a very attractive bouquet (as always) of honeysuckle, orange pith, marmalade and pineapple. The palate is vivacious on the entry, offering orange zest, mandarin, apricot and light spicy notes. This feels very harmonious and precise, and there is almost a fieriness toward the finish. Another in a succession of fabulous Vin de Constance wines under w√ľnderkind Matt Day." (VM)

"Very ripe and heady nose of apricots and peach jam, straw, dried honeysuckle, caramel, mango puree and candied papaya. Somehow, it all remains fresh. Full and round on the palate. Medium-sweet to sweet with medium acidity. A dense, oily finish. One of the great sweet wines of South Africa. Drink now or hold." (JS)

Winery Notes:
Golden orange in colour, with delicate aromas of nougat and honeycombe. The palate has a fresh acidity with rich flavours of Seville marmalade and dried apricots enveloping the mouth. These fruity notes are married with sandal wood and all spice flavours. Richly aromatic that tapers into a elegant and endless finish.
